To collate and analyze all the evidence concerning the effect of n-3PUFA supplementation on muscle mass, strength, and function across healthy young and older adults, this systematic review was conducted. Four databases—Medline, Embase, Cochrane CENTRAL, and SportDiscus—were included in the systematic search. Based on the framework of Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcomes, and Study Design, the eligibility criteria were established prior to the study commencement. Inclusion criteria encompassed only peer-reviewed studies. To assess the risk of bias and the certainty of the evidence, the Cochrane RoB2 Tool and the NutriGrade approach were utilized.
