By utilizing 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT), this study examined the effect of dupilumab on systemic and vascular inflammation in adult patients with severe atopic dermatitis. Baseline 18F-FDG PET/CT was administered to 33 adult patients with severe Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and 25 healthy controls. Patients receiving dupilumab treatment underwent a further 18F-FDG PET/CT scan after their Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI-75) scores decreased by 75% from their baseline values. Elevated 18F-FDG uptake was observed in the liver, spleen, pancreas, and carotid artery of patients with AD, in comparison to healthy controls. The attainment of EASI-75 through dupilumab therapy was not correlated with any statistically significant change in 18F-FDG uptake in major organs and arteries, when evaluated against the baseline.
